GoSite — a platform that helps small businesses transition operations online — announced that it has closed $16 million in Series A funding. This investment comes from a group of investors and entrepreneurs who believe strongly that GoSite holds a unique position for providing small businesses with the technology needed to manage their business online.
The company is known for providing a platform for small businesses that traditionally operate offline like landscapers, hair salons, and auto repair shops. And with GoSite’s platform, these businesses are able to engage with customers more effectively online not just in the digital era — but also during this unprecedented time when small businesses are being asked to close their physical doors.
The COVID-19 pandemic is forcing many small businesses to make difficult decisions, including whether to keep their doors open and how to safely serve their communities. And many of these companies have adopted GoSite to stay open for business online.
GoSite has seen a 70% increase in new merchants joining the platform since March, thus proving that businesses are turning to GoSite to support them so they can continue to provide their services and keep virtual doors open for their customers.
“Small businesses are facing difficult challenges right now and nothing is more important than making sure we are doing everything possible to help them,” said GoSite CEO Alex Goode. “We want to enable businesses to continue to operate and grow online, so we create technology to make that as easy and effective as possible.”
The $16 million Series A round of funding was led by Longley Capital and it included substantial participation from Stage 2 Capital, Ankona Capital, Serra Ventures, and SaaS Ventures as well as a strong network of current and former technology entrepreneurs. With this funding round, GoSite is going to expand its national footprint and hire talent as well as further develop innovative products and services for small businesses.
The company also announced Frank Auger has assumed the role of Chief Customer Officer at GoSite. And he is joining GoSite after a decade-long tenure at Hubspot where he ran customer success and services functions and most recently served as Chief Information Officer. Auger brings specialized leadership to guide customer experience and expansion of the company’s global footprint.
GoSite is building creative hiring pathways to utilize local talent and support job growth in San Diego and the communities served by its customers. The company has created over 200 new jobs in 18 months at GoSite’s San Diego headquarters. And it also powered over 6,000 small businesses on the platform with customers in every state.
