Branford Castle Partners, a North America-focused private equity firm, announced that its portfolio company, GPT Industries, has acquired Integrated Rectifier Technologies (IRT), a leading Alberta-based manufacturer of transformer rectifiers and related products for the global cathodic protection industry. The deal marks GPT’s first acquisition since Branford Castle invested in the company through its Fund II.

The acquisition combines GPT’s expertise in flange isolation technology and remote asset monitoring with IRT’s established legacy in rectifier systems. Together, the companies will deliver an expanded suite of corrosion-prevention and asset-integrity solutions to customers worldwide across the energy, utilities, and infrastructure markets.

The acquisition is part of GPT’s broader growth strategy, which focuses on advancing technology and expanding its global footprint through strategic partnerships. By integrating IRT’s manufacturing capabilities and product innovation, GPT aims to enhance its offerings in corrosion mitigation, remote monitoring, and pipeline safety.

Legal counsel for Branford Castle and GPT was provided by Stikeman Elliott in Canada and Akerman in the U.S. O2 Sponsor Finance, a division of Old Second National Bank, provided debt financing for the transaction. Financial terms were not disclosed.
