Grain Management, a global investment firm specializing in digital infrastructure, has appointed Amran Hussein as General Counsel, expanding its executive leadership team as the company continues developing its institutional infrastructure and multi-strategy investment platform.
Based in New York, Hussein will oversee Grain’s legal and governance functions while serving as a member of and strategic advisor to the firm’s leadership team.
She joins Grain after spending 23 years at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison, where she advised investment managers on private fund formation, governance, strategic transactions, and organizational development.
Hussein brings more than two decades of experience working with established and emerging investment firms across a broad range of private investment strategies.
Her practice has included structuring and operating multi-investor funds, separately managed accounts, co-investment vehicles, and secondary transactions.
She has also advised clients on strategic joint ventures, investment management mergers and acquisitions, and other transactions involving asset management businesses.
Her appointment adds fund formation and investment management operations experience as Grain expands its activities across different digital infrastructure investment strategies.
Hussein is already familiar with Grain’s business, having served as an outside legal advisor for more than a decade.
During that period, she worked closely with Grain’s leadership team on legal and strategic matters associated with the firm’s development.
Her transition into an internal leadership position provides continuity as she assumes responsibility for legal oversight and corporate governance.
At Grain, Hussein will work with the executive team on legal matters arising from investment activities, fundraising, organizational development, and the firm’s broader institutional operations.

During her career at Paul Weiss, she advised numerous investment firms on matters extending beyond individual fund formations.
Her work included governance structures, strategic business decisions, organizational development, and transactions involving investment management companies.
Hussein has also received recognition from several legal publications for her work in private investment funds.
She was named a Fund Formation MVP by Law360 and received the Best in Investment Funds distinction at the Euromoney Americas Women in Business Law Awards.
Her experience has also been recognized by Chambers, The Legal 500, IFLR1000, Who’s Who Legal, and Lawdragon.
In addition to her legal practice, Hussein has participated in industry conferences and educational programs addressing developments in the private funds market.
She has also served on nonprofit education boards and participated in professional mentorship initiatives.
At Grain, her responsibilities will include providing legal and strategic guidance as the company broadens its investment capabilities and evaluates additional growth opportunities across digital infrastructure.
