Grain Management has completed the strategic combination of Ritter Communications and Great Plains Communications, creating a new telecommunications and fiber broadband company called Rightfiber.
The transaction was initially announced in June 2026 and combines two telecommunications providers with operating histories extending more than 100 years.
Rightfiber is now one of the largest privately held telecommunications and fiber broadband platforms in the United States.
The company serves more than 400 communities across 20 states.
Its network spans approximately 28,000 miles of fiber and reaches more than 300,000 Fiber-to-the-Home passings.
Rightfiber serves residential customers, businesses, telecommunications carriers, hyperscalers and community partners.
In connection with the combination, Rightfiber entered into a $1.6 billion credit facility led by Fifth Third Bank.
The financing will support continued organic growth as well as potential mergers and acquisitions.
Rightfiber said its management team is in place, its networks have been connected and systems integration is underway.
Existing Ritter Communications and Great Plains Communications customers are expected to maintain their current services and local support relationships while gaining access to the broader resources and capabilities of the combined company.
Rightfiber plans to continue investing in fiber network expansion, technology and the communities across its operating footprint.
Grain Management has supported the growth of both companies through investments in fiber infrastructure, broadband accessibility and operational expansion.
The investment firm specializes in digital infrastructure and communications, including fiber networks, data centers, wireless spectrum, cell towers and related services.
