Graphic Packaging Holding Company, a global provider of sustainable consumer packaging solutions, announced that its Board of Directors has elected Larry M. Venturelli as Chairman of the Board, effective following the company’s annual meeting of stockholders.
Venturelli succeeds Philip R. Martens, who is retiring from the board after serving as a director since November 2013 and as chairman since May 2016.
Martens helped guide Graphic Packaging through a period of significant growth and transformation. Prior to joining the company’s board, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Novelis and brought extensive experience in global manufacturing and executive leadership.
Venturelli has served on Graphic Packaging’s board since 2016 and has been a member of the Nominating and Corporate Governance, Audit, and Compensation and Management Development Committees. Before retiring, he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Whirlpool Corporation and held several other executive leadership positions at the appliance manufacturer.
Graphic Packaging designs and manufactures packaging solutions primarily made from renewable or recycled materials. The company serves major brands across the food, beverage, foodservice, household, and consumer products industries through a global network of design and manufacturing facilities.
The company said Venturelli’s appointment supports its strategy of creating long-term value for stockholders, customers, and employees while continuing to strengthen its leadership position in consumer packaging.
