Graybar, a leading distributor of electrical, industrial, automation, and connectivity products, has announced plans to acquire American Electric Supply, a Southern California-based electrical distributor serving commercial and industrial customers across the region. The transaction is pending AES shareholder approval. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Founded in 1984, AES serves customers across Los Angeles, Riverside, San Bernardino, Ventura, and San Diego counties. As a subsidiary of Graybar, the company will continue to operate under the American Electric Supply name with the same team, locations, and suppliers, preserving the customer relationships and regional presence it has built over more than four decades. The acquisition expands Graybar’s footprint in Southern California, one of the largest commercial and industrial markets in the United States.
Graybar is a Fortune 500 corporation and one of the largest employee-owned companies in North America, operating a network of 355 North American distribution facilities and stocking products from thousands of manufacturers. The company specializes in supply chain management and logistics services and helps customers power, network, automate, and secure their facilities across electrical, industrial, automation, and connectivity product categories. AES’s longstanding presence and customer service reputation in Southern California were cited as key factors in the deal.
