Greenjets has raised $40 million in Series A funding to accelerate the development and production of propulsion systems, aircraft platforms and launch technologies for defense and civil aerospace applications. Blossom Capital led the round, with participation from the NATO Innovation Fund, the National Security Strategic Investment Fund and existing investors including Tanglin Ventures and NSFO Family Office.
The financing follows Greenjets’ selection by the UK Ministry of Defence under the Low-Cost Air Defence Effectors program, known as LCADE.
Greenjets is one of three companies selected to develop a British low-cost drone interceptor through the program.
The company’s interceptor is expected to enter demonstration trials later in 2026.
LCADE is being delivered through the National Armaments Director Group as part of LEAP, a five-country European initiative involving the United Kingdom, Poland, France, Italy and Germany.
The UK is the first participating country to place suppliers under contract through the initiative.
Greenjets plans to use the new capital to transition more of its technologies from development into production.
The company expects the investment to support delivery of thousands of systems over the next 12 months.
The round will also fund additional development across Greenjets’ propulsion, aircraft and launch technology portfolio.
Greenjets develops an integrated collection of aerospace technologies built on a shared technical platform.
Its propulsion portfolio ranges from electric ducted fans to geared turbofan engines.
The company combines those propulsion systems with aircraft integration, advanced manufacturing and launch technologies.
Using a shared technology stack is intended to help Greenjets develop new products more quickly and deploy related capabilities across multiple aerospace applications.
The company is seeking to become a major UK aerospace contractor capable of developing and manufacturing complete systems rather than supplying only individual components.
Greenjets is currently working under multiple UK and international programs.
Its technologies are progressing toward demonstration trials with the UK Ministry of Defence and other partners.
The company is positioning its propulsion and aircraft systems for applications involving autonomous aircraft, counter-drone systems and other emerging aviation platforms.
The expanded use of low-cost attack drones has increased demand for defensive systems that can be produced and deployed at a lower cost than many traditional air-defense weapons.
Greenjets said modern systems must combine speed, efficiency, low noise and a reduced thermal signature while using secure domestic or allied supply chains.
Propulsion performance can be particularly important for drone interceptors, which must accelerate quickly and reach fast-moving targets.
Greenjets is addressing these requirements through coordinated development of engines, airframes and manufacturing processes.
The company’s intellectual property portfolio includes technologies involving propulsion, aircraft integration and advanced manufacturing.
Greenjets believes this portfolio can support rapid product iteration while creating technical advantages as production volumes increase.
The UK Defence Investment Plan includes more than £750 million for short-range counter-drone protection and over £5 billion for drones and autonomous systems.
Greenjets believes its technologies are relevant to both investment areas.
The company has expanded its UK facilities from approximately 12,000 square feet to nearly 70,000 square feet over the past year.
Greenjets is also on track to increase its workforce from around 160 employees to more than 250.
The expansion is intended to provide the manufacturing capacity and technical personnel required to move from prototyping and development into scaled production.
Greenjets is headquartered in the UK and also operates in Germany.
The company is expanding its presence across India, the Middle East and the United States as international demand for sovereign aerospace and defense technologies grows.
Greenjets is led by co-founders Anmol Manohar, who serves as CEO, and Dr. Guido Monterzino, who serves as CTO.
Its team includes professionals with experience from Rolls-Royce, General Electric, BAE Systems, RTX, Lilium, Cosworth and Formula 1.
The Series A financing will support Greenjets as it advances defense programs while continuing to develop technologies that could be used across a broader range of aviation markets.
KEY QUOTES:
“When we founded Greenjets, our ambition was to develop the technologies that would shape the future of aviation. The conflict in Ukraine has reinforced just how important those same technologies are in protecting lives, strengthening Europe’s resilience and enabling the future of flight. We believe building affordable defensive capability is a necessary response to today’s realities, and a natural extension of our mission to advance aviation.”
Anmol Manohar, Co-Founder and CEO of Greenjets, and Dr. Guido Monterzino, Co-Founder and CTO of Greenjets
“Greenjets gives aircraft builders what no legacy architecture can: speed, silence, range and instant response, tuned to whatever the mission demands. That is why their propulsion is being designed into platforms across the full spectrum of autonomous flight. Anmol, Guido and the team stand out for a relentless focus on delivery and customer satisfaction.”
Maxim Frenkel, Partner at Blossom Capital
“The speed at which the defence and security drone industry is evolving means that propulsion is the constraint that determines whether an interceptor can close the gap on a 500 km/h target or vice versa. Greenjets is addressing this at the engine and airframe level, meaningfully improving the performance of UAS and CUAS companies, without them having to solve propulsion independently. This is exactly the kind of Allied supply-chain technology we were set up to back.”
Patrick Schneider-Sikorsky, Partner at the NATO Innovation Fund
“NSSIF is proud to be part of Greenjets’ future. The company presents a special combination of a deep technological moat and roadmap of high-value applications in defence and civil use cases over the long term, with a platform for mass production and rapid iteration that addresses acute defence needs in the present. Greenjets is already making a material contribution to the UK’s security and prosperity, and this is set to scale massively.”
Edmund Phillips, Investment Partner at the National Security Strategic Investment Fund
