Greenlight Networks To Buy Loop Internet

By Amit Chowdhry • Jul 9, 2025

Greenlight Networks, a fiber-to-the-home internet provider, has reached a definitive agreement to buy Loop Internet, a locally owned fiber provider in Scranton, PA.

This acquisition will enhance Greenlight’s presence in the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton area and accelerate the deployment of its fiber network. Founded in 2015 by a local resident frustrated with poor internet service, Loop Internet now serves Wilkes-Barre, Mountain Top, Scranton, and Kingston, with expansions underway in nearby communities.

Greenlight plans to utilize Loop’s local expertise and infrastructure to create jobs, foster partnerships with local businesses, and strengthen community involvement. The deal is expected to be finalized later this year, pending regulatory approvals. The terms of the agreement remain undisclosed.
