  • Greylock has announced that it named Jason Risch as a new investor on the enterprise investing team

In a blog post on Medium, Greylock partners Asheem Chandna and Saam Motamedi announced that they are excited to name Jason Risch as an investor on the enterprise investing team.

“AI/ML are rapidly becoming core ingredient technologies and are reshaping information technology and business. Jason will be focusing on identifying and working with entrepreneurs and startups that are driving AI-enabled advances across software and infrastructure, including cybersecurity,” wrote Chandna and Motamedi in the blog post. “Jason has spent most of his academic and professional career immersed in AI/ML and data. Most recently, Jason developed and launched new startups within the AI Fund startup studio including companies focused on AI-enabled SaaS solutions and explainable AI. He operated the startup companies from inception to seed funding, leading cross-functional efforts by prototyping products, signing initial customers, and recruiting the founding executive teams.”

Before the AI fund, Risch was a management consultant at McKinsey’s Bay Area practice and he advised companies on disruptive technology trends as well as sales and marketing. Plus he previously worked in Opendoor’s business operations team where he tuned their house pricing models and purchasing process in order to improve unit economics.

Risch graduated from Stanford with a B.S. in Mathematical and Computational Science and an M.S. in Statistics with a focus on machine learning. At Stanford, he received the J.E. Wallace Sterling Award for Scholastic Achievement and was also a Mayfield Fellow.
