Gridline announced the appointment of Chris Crawford as chief operating officer, strengthening its leadership team as the company scales its platform for managing private markets investments.
Crawford joins Gridline from CAIS, where he spent more than six years as managing director, overseeing its fund management platform and serving as COO of its investment management subsidiary, CAIS Advisors. He brings more than 25 years of experience across operations, finance, compliance, and risk within alternative investments, wealth management, and financial technology.
At Gridline, Crawford will lead platform operations and infrastructure, focusing on scaling systems and workflows that support custom fund creation, data management, and the firm’s AI-powered compliance and diligence solution, AltComply. His role will also include supporting the rollout of new capabilities, such as a planned liquidity and credit marketplace, and expanding the company’s presence in key markets.
The appointment comes during a period of growth for Gridline, following its recent $18.5 million Series A funding round. The company continues to build out its end-to-end platform designed to replace fragmented legacy infrastructure in private markets with a unified system for diligence, execution, administration, and reporting.
Gridline’s platform is used by registered investment advisers, multi-family offices, and private banks seeking to scale private markets offerings and deliver alternative investment strategies more efficiently.
