Griffin Spikoski: How This Teen Makes Six Figures Playing Games Like Fortnite

You may have heard of Tyler “Ninja” Blevins, the 27-year-old who made over $10 million last year streaming games like Fortnite and is the most followed streamer on Twitch with more than 13 million followers along with 21 million YouTube subscribers. Griffin Spikoski, a 14-year-old in Long Island, New York is an up-and-coming game streamer who spends as much as 18 hours a day playing Fortnite and streaming it to his fans.

Griffin Spikoski has 1.2 million subscribers on YouTube and received more than 71 million views. Spikoski goes by the username “Sceptic” on YouTube. And Last year, Griffin Spikoski had a total income of nearly $200,000.

When Griffin Spikoski is not playing games, he is doing is school work online. However, his main focus is video games right now. “It’s kind of like my job,” said Spikoski via ABC affiliate WABC-TV. On a typical day, he spends eight hours playing the game at his home in Long Island.

Griffin Spikoski’s mother Kathleen Connolly said that her son’s passion for video games took her by surprise. “He told me he was good at them (playing games) and then the world just kind of confirmed it,” added Connolly.

Chris Spikoski pointed out that it didn’t take long for his son to earn $100 from gaming and two months later, they hired a financial adviser and accountant to help manage the earnings. They also established a company around his brand called Sceptic Gaming Inc.

E-sports are continuing to become a big business. And Epic Games, the game development company behind Fortnite, recently announced it would set up $100 million prize pools for Fortnite competitions this season.

One of Griffin Spikoski’s most triumphant moments was last year defeated one of the best Fortnite players and uploaded it to YouTube. That video quickly hit 7.5 million views.
