Wealthspire, an independent wealth management, retirement advisory, and business management firm, announced that its Ground Control Business Management unit has acquired Nashville-based Wiles + Taylor & Co., a music-focused business management and tax consulting firm serving touring artists, songwriters, and industry executives.
The transaction strengthens Ground Control’s capabilities in music business management, adding expertise in touring operations and royalty administration while expanding its geographic footprint beyond California. The move advances Ground Control’s strategy to build a nationally recognized music business management platform while preserving its relationship-driven culture.
Founded in 1986 by the late Gary Smith, Wiles + Taylor provides business management services tailored to the financial and operational needs of the music industry. The firm advises clients on complex touring structures, global revenue tracking and accounting, royalty income and catalog transactions, and insurance and risk considerations tied to domestic and international touring.
As part of the transaction, Wiles + Taylor’s Nashville-based team, including partners Steve Eggart and Kevin Dalton, will join Ground Control. The addition is expected to deepen Ground Control’s expertise in supporting artists across personal finances, touring operations, and global activity, further solidifying music as a core vertical within the platform. Wiles + Taylor will continue operating in Nashville, expanding Ground Control’s presence in a key hub for the music industry. The deal adds approximately 65 employees to the firm.
Although the transaction specifically involves Ground Control’s business management platform, Ground Control remains part of Wealthspire’s integrated platform and will continue operating under the Ground Control Business Management name.
