Danish company Grundfos, a leader in advanced water solutions, has acquired Newterra, a Pittsburgh-based company specializing in water and wastewater treatment solutions. This strategic move underscores Grundfos’ commitment to enhancing its capabilities in water treatment while aiming to bolster its market presence in the US and Canada.
In 2024, Grundfos reported revenues surpassing $5 billion. The addition of Newterra brings the company’s water treatment workforce to over 1,500 skilled employees across Europe and North America, further increasing its revenue potential.
Since 2020, Grundfos has been actively pursuing strategic acquisitions to develop a robust water treatment platform. With this latest acquisition, the company aims to solidify its position in the industry further.
Grundfos has set an ambitious goal to double its US business by 2030. To support this growth, the company has announced plans to expand its production capabilities by building a new plant in Brookshire, Texas, which will serve as its US headquarters.
