GTCR, a private equity firm, has closed its inaugural Capital Solutions Fund with approximately $1.25 billion in aggregate commitments. Limited partner commitments came almost exclusively from existing, long-term investors in other GTCR funds.
The fund will invest in minority structured equity and debt opportunities, primarily in the middle market, often providing funding for mergers and acquisitions and other growth initiatives. The fund will target companies within GTCR’s core industry domains, prioritizing businesses with recurring revenues and strong free cash flow generation.
GTCR has invested more than $35 billion in over 300 companies since its founding in 1980, and the firm currently manages approximately $45 billion in equity capital.
Support: Kirkland & Ellis served as legal advisor to GTCR.
