Guy Arazi is a cybersecurity research expert who oversaw every incoming security risk at Microsoft and was a founding member of the team that developed Palo Alto Networks’ XCloud. Pulse 2.0 interviewed Guy Arazi to gain a deeper understanding of a company that he will be launching soon.
Guy Arazi’s Background
Could you tell me more about your background? Arazi said:
“I’ve built my career around finding threats and stopping attacks before they happen. At Microsoft, I founded their ransomware detection vertical, developing novel techniques that became critical defenses against network-wide infections. I then joined Palo Alto Networks as a founding member of the XCloud Research team, pioneering detection methods for cryptomining attacks across major cloud providers. Microsoft brought me back as tech lead on the MSRC Vulnerabilities & Mitigations team, where I discovered 150+ vulnerabilities, launched an internal security research initiative, and built automation that cut remediation time in half.”
Formation Of The Company
How did the idea for the company come together? Arazi shared:
“My driving philosophy for the startup stems from a fundamental truth I discovered after years on security research teams: machines, despite their advancements, struggle to truly understand problems with the same depth as humans. Human researchers can look at a situation and instantly grasp not just what’s happening, but also the entire context, the developer’s intent, the underlying assumptions, and the broader implications. Every problem has its own unique ‘DNA’ and its own story. Humans naturally adapt their approach based on subtle nuances, drawing from experience and pattern recognition that goes far beyond surface-level analysis. We see connections that aren’t obvious, we understand the intent behind decisions, and we can think like both the builder and the breaker. There’s one issue in particular that we’re tackling, which is something I discovered while on MSRC V&M. I’ve made it my mission to solve it, and that’s what my team and I relentlessly pursue every day.”
Favorite Memory
What has been your favorite memory working for the company so far? Arazi reflected:
“A lot of investors saw our value as a team but did not believe that we could pull it off since no one had done it before. It felt odd and risky for them, so when we got this to work, the faces on everyone in the room changed. It made me feel like “I live exactly because of this” — I manifested and believed, and we managed to do it. Don’t get me wrong, it was not easy at all, and we failed a few times, but it was all worth it completely. Someone told us, “You are going to build it? You? Do you know how many folks tried it in the past?” But I assume different people have different fuel.”
Core Products
What are the company’s core products and features? Arazi explained:
“We help companies secure products in the area of AI. We’re taking a completely different approach. When security engineers and executives hear about the product, they’re skeptical. They say, ‘That’s just not how security works.’ But then when we show them the product, their previously conceived notions disappear, and they see that it does work. There’s not another product in the market like it right now, and we’re eager to introduce it more widely soon.”
Challenges Faced
Have you faced any challenges in your sector of work recently? Arazi acknowledged:
“When you bring a new capability to market that no one has heard of, there’s opportunity, but there’s also an inherent challenge because companies can’t compare it to other offerings. With any new offering that’s never existed before, there’s a different budget line with it. Companies recognize that it takes that different budget to win the race to secure in the era of AI, and we recognize that we also have to reconcile different budgets in order to grow.”
“Another challenge comes with team-building. With cybersecurity as one of the most difficult hiring markets, one of our greatest challenges is finding the right personnel. We care so deeply about our team, and we evaluate each individual with thoughtful consideration to determine how they fit into the culture and ethics system. We work tirelessly to build a community that embodies our commitment to exceptional work.”
Significant Milestones
What have been some of the company’s most significant milestones? Arazi cited:
“One milestone is with our customers and one is with our people. One of our biggest customers is using, solely, our product to solve one of their biggest cybersecurity issues. This signals to us that they’re seeing the value of the offering. Implementing and deploying a new tool always takes time. But ultimately we’re happy when our customer is addicted to us. We’re energized by that.”
“On our own team, we’ve achieved a culture that’s insanity to some but authentic to us. When we say we work all the time, we mean it, and we enjoy it. When you want something, you invest the entirety of your energy into it, and that’s what we all do seven days a week.”
Customer Success Stories
Can you share any specific customer success stories? Arazi highlighted:
“One of our most significant enterprise customers is running our product and it’s yielding almost no false positives. We’re really proud of that.”
Total Addressable Market
What total addressable market (TAM) size is the company pursuing? Arazi assessed:
“We’re targeting tens of billions of dollars.”
Differentiation From The Competition
What differentiates the company from its competition? Arazi affirmed:
“We’re able to eradicate entire classes of security flaws in the most seamless way possible. The problem we’re solving is tough and complex and creates a lot of friction, so no one has ever been excited about addressing it — until now. We might be the only product on our market that makes buyers actually smile when they hear about it.”
Future Company Goals
What are some of the company’s future goals? Arazi emphasized:
“Plain and simple: dominate the market. Pursuing anything less than totality is not who we are.”
Additional Thoughts
Any other topics you would like to discuss? Arazi concluded:
“Coffee. We’re coffee fanatics. We’re very selective about it. You’ll find us weighing 18g of coffee, which goes into bean cellars, and we do this 50 times at the start of every week. If you want great coffee, let us know, and we’ll bring our beans and drip setup to you.”
