Gwynedd Mercy University announced that its Mercy in Motion comprehensive campaign raised more than $35.3 million, exceeding its initial $25 million goal by $ 10.3 million, with support from nearly 2,200 donors.

Launched in January 2022, the campaign was designed to expand access to education and advance the university’s vision of becoming a leader in professional and healthcare education. The initiative focused on three core priorities: funding healthcare innovation, increasing student access through scholarships, and sustaining the university’s mission through investments in faculty, student life, and academic programs.

The campaign drove a 68% increase in scholarship funding and supported service-immersion experiences, enabling more students to pursue in-demand careers through hands-on, values-based learning. A key milestone included a $10 million gift from the Maguire Foundation to establish the Frances M. Maguire ’55 Healthcare Innovation Center, a new hub for interprofessional healthcare education.

Additional funding, including grants from Pennsylvania’s Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program, supported campus improvements such as renovations to residential facilities and athletic spaces, as well as the creation of new student gathering areas.

University leaders said the campaign also strengthened long-term philanthropic engagement, including securing the largest planned giving gift in the institution’s history and building a foundation for sustained support.

The initiative is expected to have a lasting impact on student outcomes and community engagement, reinforcing the university’s mission to prepare graduates for meaningful careers and service.
