Gyde acquired Capstone Benefits Consulting, marking the AI-native insurance brokerage platform’s first acquisition in the employee benefits market.
The transaction expands Gyde beyond Medicare and individual and family insurance plans into group health and employee benefits consulting.
Capstone is an Atlanta-area benefits consultancy serving small and midsize employers as well as larger organizations.
Many of its employer clients have between 25 and 250 employees.
Capstone recently became broker of record for the Georgia Pharmacy Association’s benefits program after winning the account from a national incumbent.
Managing Principal Reed Damron will continue leading Capstone and will also become a Gyde Partner.
Vice President of Sales Renie Cochran and the rest of the Capstone team will remain with the organization and support its next phase of growth.
Capstone will continue operating under its existing brand as “powered by Gyde,” with its day-to-day operations, carrier relationships, and current client and vendor partnerships remaining in place.
The firm will integrate Gyde’s AI platform to automate administrative workflows involving renewals, enrollment, compliance, and customer service.
Gyde said this should allow Capstone advisors to spend more time on strategic and relationship-based client work.
As Gyde’s first employee benefits partner, Capstone will also provide input into the development of the company’s group benefits AI products.
The deal is Gyde’s seventh acquisition in seven months following a $60 million funding round led by Lightspeed Venture Partners earlier in 2026.
