H.I.G. Capital has completed its acquisition of Phoenix ME Limited, a UK-based provider of integrated mechanical and electrical engineering services serving data centers, life sciences, infrastructure, and commercial markets.
Phoenix founder and CEO Lee Compton is reinvesting alongside H.I.G., while the existing management team will remain in place. Jim Arnold is joining Phoenix as chairman to work with management and H.I.G. on the company’s next phase of expansion.
Founded in 1931 and headquartered in London, Phoenix provides mechanical and electrical system design, installation, and commissioning services across the UK and mainland Europe.
The company has worked on complex and mission-critical infrastructure projects, including high-profile developments in London, and has significant exposure to the growing data center and life sciences markets.
With H.I.G.’s backing, Phoenix plans to expand its European presence, broaden its service offering, support more complex customer projects, and pursue growth through both organic initiatives and acquisitions.
H.I.G. manages $75 billion of capital and has invested in and managed more than 400 companies since its founding in 1993.
