H.I.G. Capital announced that Carlos Couret will join the firm as managing director and head of the Spanish Lower Middle Market private equity team.
Couret has 17 years of mid-market private equity experience, with a background spanning origination, execution, and exits across multiple industries.
Before joining H.I.G., Couret was a senior investment professional at ProA Capital.
He previously held positions at BNP Paribas in the firm’s New York and Madrid offices.
H.I.G. said Couret’s appointment strengthens its private equity franchise in Spain and Portugal.
The appointment also reflects H.I.G.’s continued commitment to Southern Europe.
