By Amit Chowdhry ● Sep 1, 2026

H.I.G. Capital has appointed Younghee Choi as Head of Asia within its Capital Formation Group, adding a former Blackstone senior executive to lead fundraising and investor relationships across the region.

Based in Hong Kong, Choi will oversee capital formation efforts across Asia for H.I.G.’s global private equity, credit and real assets platforms.

Choi brings more than 15 years of private markets and capital formation experience.

She joins H.I.G. from Blackstone, where she held senior positions across Institutional Client Solutions and Private Wealth and most recently served as Senior Managing Director and Head of Korea Institutional Client Solutions.

During her time at Blackstone, Choi developed relationships with major institutional investors while also helping build the firm’s private wealth fundraising business in Korea.

Her appointment comes as alternative asset managers increasingly seek capital from Asian pensions, sovereign institutions, insurers, family offices and private wealth channels.

H.I.G. plans to use Choi’s institutional and private wealth relationships to broaden its Asian limited partner base and connect regional investors with investment strategies spanning buyouts, private credit, real estate and infrastructure.

The appointment also strengthens H.I.G.’s on-the-ground presence in Hong Kong as the firm expands its global fundraising organization.

H.I.G. manages approximately $75 billion of capital and has invested in or managed more than 400 companies since its founding in 1993.

Its current portfolio includes more than 100 businesses generating combined annual sales exceeding $53 billion.

The firm’s investment platform spans management buyouts, recapitalizations, corporate carve-outs, senior and junior debt, real estate and infrastructure investments.
