Harbor Health, a Texas-based primary and specialty care clinic group that also operates a health insurance business, has acquired Rippl, a dementia care platform that helps seniors with dementia stay at home and avoid unnecessary emergency department visits, hospitalizations, and post-acute care.
The deal is positioned as a strategic addition to Harbor Health’s condition-focused care pathways, which the company says use structured, evidence-based approaches to guide clinicians and members through the management of specific conditions, including diabetes, hypertension, and chronic pain. Harbor Health said dementia care aligns with its proactive model, which aims to identify issues earlier, improve outcomes, and better match benefits to care through its integrated care-and-coverage approach.
Harbor Health also framed the acquisition as supporting its growth ambitions in Texas and beyond. The company said the transaction expands its services into Florida and builds on its 2025 acquisition of 32 VillageMD clinics. Harbor Health said the dementia care program will be available to people receiving care at Harbor Health and VillageMD locations in Austin, Dallas, San Antonio, and El Paso.
Rippl’s services are expected to continue for Medicare Advantage members and for seniors covered by traditional Medicare through CMS’ GUIDE program. Harbor Health said Rippl’s platform is designed to help identify medical and behavioral issues early, with the goal of preventing avoidable acute care utilization and reducing caregiver burden.
Harbor Health said Rippl investors are making a new commitment to the combined company. The investor group cited includes Kin Ventures, ARCH Venture Partners, General Catalyst, GV (Google Ventures), F-Prime Capital, JSL Health, and Mass General Brigham Ventures.
