Harbour Group has acquired American Packing & Gasket Holdings, commonly known as APG, and added the business to its SHF flow-components platform. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
APG will operate alongside Stainless Hose Fittings, Texcel and OmegaOne. Together, the companies supply components used in fluid conveyance, flow control and sealing applications.
Founded in southeast Texas in 1943, APG is a master distributor of sealing and fluid-conveyance products. The company operates from facilities in Houston and Knoxville, Tennessee.
APG’s product portfolio includes O-rings, gaskets, couplings and related components. The company maintains more than 40,000 active stock-keeping units sourced through a diversified network of original equipment manufacturers.
The business also provides value-added services such as O-ring bagging, product kitting and custom gasket fabrication. These capabilities allow customers to purchase both individual components and application-specific product packages.
Harbour Group said APG’s offerings complement the existing product lines of SHF, Texcel and OmegaOne. The combination is intended to create a broader source of products and technical support for distributors serving industrial customers.
APG’s EVER-TITE brand is a notable part of the acquired portfolio. The cam-and-groove coupling line is expected to pair with Texcel’s hose products and support a more complete fluid-conveyance offering.
Cam-and-groove couplings allow hoses and pipes to be connected and disconnected quickly without specialized tools. They are commonly used in industrial, chemical, oil and gas, marine and material-handling applications.
SHF, Texcel and OmegaOne currently operate as a unified business platform. Their products include stainless-steel adapters, fluid-power fittings, braid bands, instrumentation fittings and valves in both metric and imperial sizes.
The combined platform serves customers in markets such as marine, industrial manufacturing, chemicals, and oil and gas. Harbour Group believes APG will expand the platform’s product breadth, inventory capabilities and customer service resources.
APG also brings an established management team and service-oriented operating culture. The business is expected to continue operating alongside Harbour Group’s existing brands while benefiting from the resources of the broader platform.
The acquisition supports Harbour Group’s strategy of expanding through investments in specialized manufacturing and distribution businesses. The company said its flow-control platform continues to evaluate additional acquisitions across the fluid-power and flow-control sectors.
Harbour Group was founded in 1976 and is based in St. Louis. The privately owned company has acquired 237 businesses across 51 industries, including specialty fittings, control systems, monitoring technologies, tools, chemicals and industrial equipment.
