HarbourVest Partners, one of the world’s largest private markets investment firms with over $146 billion in assets under management, has launched a new Evergreen Secondaries Solution aimed at non-US private wealth and institutional investors. The Luxembourg-domiciled vehicle is designed to provide flexible access to HarbourVest’s secondaries platform, offering exposure to high-quality private equity assets across geographies and sectors.
The solution marks the firm’s continued expansion of its private wealth offering, enabling investors to participate in both LP- and GP-led secondary transactions through HarbourVest’s global multi-manager platform, which spans more than 600 GP relationships. By targeting a diversified mix of buyout investments and leveraging the firm’s scale and deal flow, the structure aims to achieve attractive risk-adjusted returns while maintaining liquidity and operational flexibility.
The Evergreen Secondaries Solution is seeded by a cornerstone investor with a five-year lock-up, allowing it to launch with an initial diversified portfolio. The firm noted that this structure helps mitigate blind pool risk and provides stability as the fund scales over time.
HarbourVest said the launch reflects the changing priorities of private clients seeking greater convenience and portfolio integration. The new vehicle is part of the firm’s growing evergreen suite, which also includes a partnership established in 2023 with AP7, the Swedish government pension fund, to create an evergreen private equity solution for non-US institutional and high-net-worth investors.
The new platform is intended to simplify access to private markets and meet the evolving needs of advisors and wealth managers. HarbourVest stated that the initiative reinforces its long-term commitment to offering scalable, performance-driven investment structures that align with investor demand for flexibility and continuous exposure to private equity.
