Harraden Circle Appoints David Walch To Develop New Opportunistic Strategy

Harraden Circle Investments has appointed David Walch as Portfolio Manager, adding an investment executive with nearly three decades of experience across corporate credit, structured credit, real estate, and real assets.

Walch joins the New York-based investment firm effective November 1, 2026 after spending 14 years at King Street Capital Management, where he most recently served as Partner and Co-Portfolio Manager.

At Harraden, Walch will work with Founder and Chief Investment Officer Fritz Fortmiller to develop and co-manage a new opportunistic strategy spanning public and private markets.

The strategy will include privately negotiated transactions and complement Harraden’s existing event-driven investment strategy.

Harraden said the new offering will build on its current research and investment capabilities while incorporating Walch’s extensive background investing across multiple credit and real asset categories.

During his tenure at King Street, Walch held senior responsibility across the firm’s investment activities and served on its Management, Global Investment, Real Estate Investment, and Risk Committees.

Before joining King Street, Walch served as a Managing Director at Perry Capital.

Earlier in his career, he worked as an Associate within Morgan Stanley’s real estate group.

Walch holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Arts from Yale University.

Harraden Circle was founded in 2016 and operates as a research-driven investment firm focused on catalyst-driven opportunities across public and private markets.

The employee-owned firm combines fundamental research, event-driven investing, and structured capital expertise, concentrating on situations involving complexity, identifiable catalysts, or structural features.

Walch’s addition expands Harraden’s senior investment capabilities as the firm develops another strategy alongside its established event-driven business.
