Netflix (NASDAQ:NFLX) has reportedly signed a deal with the Duke and Duchess of Suffolk: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Specifically, the recently launched production company by Harry and Meghan is going to create content as part of a multiyear deal. The content will include documentaries and original TV programming. Terms of the deal were undisclosed.

Meghan is a former actress, but she does not have credits as a producer yet. Harry and Meghan do not have plans to act, but they may appear in the documentaries that their company produces. Meghan previously acted in the hit TV show Suits.

“Our focus will be on creating content that informs but also gives hope,” said the couple in a statement via NYT. “As new parents, making inspirational family programming is also important to us.”

One of the programs on Netflix — which is called The Crown — is a historical drama about the life of Prince Harry’s grandmother Queen Elizabeth II. The Crown will soon release season 4 out of a six-season plan.

And recently, Netflix released a documentary called Rising Phoenix, a documentary about Paralympic Games. Harry founded the Invictus Games for wounded veterans and he appeared in Rising Phoenix.

“We’re incredibly proud they have chosen Netflix as their creative home and are excited about telling stories with them that can help build resilience and increase understanding for audiences everywhere,” stated Ted Sarandos, Netflix’s co-chief executive and chief content officer.

Harry and Meghan have been talking to executives at Disney and Apple. And the NYT’s sources reported that Harry and Meghan were seeking a deal somewhere in the ballpark of $100 million.

About six months ago, Harry and Meghan decamped from the House of Windsor. The departure of royal duties from Meghan and Harry caused an uproar and the news media coined the situation “Megxit.”

Following negotiations with Queen Elizabeth II agreed to the terms as long as they agreed not to use the His Royal Highness and Her Royal Highness titles. And the couple also gave up public funding. This led to speculation about how the couple would finance their lifestyle including security needs.

Harry had signed a deal with the Harry Walker Agency in June, which provides him with per-speech feeds of an estimated $1 million. There are also rumors that Harry and Meghan could be signing a deal with Spotify. Meghan recently narrated a nature documentary called Elephant on Disney+ in April.

Harry and Meghan have been living in Los Angeles since March and they were temporarily staying at a Beverly Hills mansion owned by renowned actor, writer, producer, and director Tyler Perry.

A couple of years ago, Netflix also signed a deal with Barack Obama and Michelle Obama for producing films and TV shows.
