Haworth, a leading global manufacturer of commercial furniture and interior solutions, announced that it has acquired a majority shareholding in Tayco, a Toronto-based manufacturer of office furniture and case goods.
The acquisition strengthens Haworth’s footprint in Canada and enhances its manufacturing and product capabilities across North America. By bringing Tayco into its network, Haworth adds advanced manufacturing expertise and expands the range of products available to its dealer and customer base.
Tayco is widely recognized for its operational efficiency and deep expertise in office furniture, work systems, storage, casegoods, tables and seating. The company already serves a significant U.S. customer base through an established dealer network. Under the new partnership, Haworth dealers will also gain access to Tayco’s product portfolio, broadening their offerings to clients.
Tayco will continue to operate independently under the leadership of President Bill Melnik and its senior management team. The company will maintain its existing team, business model and open-line approach to the market. Customers and dealer partners are expected to see full continuity in products, services, programs and relationships.
Founded in 1948 and headquartered in Holland, Michigan, Haworth operates in more than 150 countries through a global network of 400 dealers and 8,000 employees. The privately held company reported sales of $2.57 billion. Tayco, founded in 1976, specializes in commercial office furniture and partners with architects, designers and dealers to deliver flexible workplace solutions, with a focus on design, responsible manufacturing and customer experience.
