Haystack Robotics has raised $3.95 million in Series A funding, with the round led by Agadia, to support the expansion of its autonomous UV-C disinfection robotics platform. The Portland, Oregon-based company plans to use the new capital to support global expansion and further development of its robotics and artificial intelligence technology.
Haystack Robotics has developed Violet AI, an autonomous UV-C disinfection robot designed to move through complex indoor environments without requiring pre-mapping.
The system combines AI and autonomous navigation with ultraviolet-C disinfection technology to perform repeatable cleaning workflows across shared indoor environments.
Haystack is targeting applications in hospitals, senior living communities, educational facilities, hospitality, fitness centers and other shared spaces where consistent disinfection can be operationally challenging.
The company positions Violet AI as a way to automate a hazardous and repetitive task while enabling employees to focus on higher-value responsibilities.
The robot is designed to navigate facilities independently while conducting UV-C disinfection, helping organizations standardize a process that can otherwise vary depending on staffing, procedures and individual execution.
Haystack Robotics was founded by Mahadev Eakambaram and Seshu Duvvur.
The Series A financing builds on support from the company’s existing investor base, with Haystack saying the new capital strengthens its ability to execute on its growth plans and continue developing its technology.
The financing comes as healthcare and other facility operators increasingly explore autonomous robotics for repetitive operational workflows, including cleaning and disinfection.
Haystack plans to use the Series A to expand the reach of Violet AI while continuing to improve the underlying robotics and AI platform.
