Health Catalyst has appointed Simeon Kohl as Chief Executive Officer and President and elected him to the company’s Board of Directors, effective September 14, 2026. Kohl succeeds Ben Albert, who will transition to Chief Business Officer and step down from Health Catalyst’s board effective September 13.
Kohl brings more than 20 years of healthcare experience across operations, growth and public-company leadership.
He most recently served as CEO of Performant Healthcare, where he led the publicly traded healthcare company through a period of strategic and operational transformation.
That process culminated in Performant Healthcare’s sale to Machinify for approximately $670 million.
Health Catalyst said Kohl’s record of operational leadership and shareholder value creation positioned him to lead the company through its next phase.
Albert will remain part of the executive leadership team as Chief Business Officer and work alongside Kohl on the company’s strategic priorities.
During Albert’s tenure as CEO, Health Catalyst narrowed its focus around what it described as its highest-conviction technologies and positioned itself as an AI-forward healthcare intelligence company.
Albert also led the divestiture of Vitalware.
Health Catalyst said proceeds and related actions from the divestiture allowed it to retire an approximately $160 million credit facility and strengthen its balance sheet.
Health Catalyst provides healthcare intelligence technology intended to improve clinical, financial and consumer outcomes for health systems.
The company said its platform and services are supported by nearly two decades of proprietary data and have contributed to $2.8 billion in documented outcomes.
Kohl is expected to focus on building on those assets while improving growth and operating performance.
