HealthCentral Acquires Influencer Relationship Management Platform Medfluencers

HealthCentral announced it has acquired Medfluencers, a physician-founded influencer relationship management platform, as the company accelerates its transition into a technology-enabled health experience platform. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The acquisition adds AI-powered influencer relationship management capabilities to HealthCentral’s platform, enabling brands and organizations to identify, validate, and activate trusted healthcare voices. Medfluencers provides a network of more than 700 credentialed digital opinion leaders across more than 40 medical specialties.

At the core of Medfluencers’ offering is its proprietary IRM platform, Medfluencers Pulse®, which ingests campaign objectives and identifies the most relevant healthcare professional creators based on disease state, specialty, and treatment context. The platform is designed to support the responsible activation of physician voices while maintaining clinical credibility and compliance standards.

The deal comes amid growing reliance on social media for health information. According to a KFF poll cited in the announcement, approximately 55% of U.S. adults use social platforms for health information at least occasionally. However, fewer than one in ten social media users say they trust most of the health information and advice they encounter online. HealthCentral said the acquisition strengthens its strategy to deliver clinically validated, culturally fluent health influence with measurable, real-world impact.

Medfluencers also utilizes proprietary tools, including Medfluencers Pulse® and AxonAI, to validate credentials, assess clinical credibility, and analyze influence across digital channels.

As part of the transaction, Adam Goodcoff, D.O., CEO of Medfluencers, will join HealthCentral as Chief Medical Officer across HealthCentral brands. The acquisition is effective immediately.
