Healthipeople is a digital health platform that connects patients, caregivers, and providers to improve patient outcomes. Pulse 2.0 interviewed HealthiPeople CEO and founder Rohit Maheshwari to learn more about the company.
Rohit Maheshwari’s Background
What is Rohit Maheshwari’s background? Maheshwari said:
“I grew up in New Delhi, India, and partly in Toronto, Canada, before I settled in the U.S. 20 years ago. This afforded me a global outlook that really shapes my view of the world and how I operate within it.”
“I am a computer engineer by education and started my career at Salesforce, where I played different roles, from Salesforce customer success to sales enablement and the growth of global partnerships. I had joined Salesforce in its early days and been part of the company as it went IPO and beyond through various phases of growth & scale. This significantly contributed to my product, customer service, and sales leadership experience in tech. It was during my time at Salesforce that I also saw the value of technology across sectors, including Healthcare, and I began to see the need for advancement within healthcare. This led me to join Deloitte’s digital healthcare practice, where I built products, sold them, and implemented them for major payors and providers by customizing technology solutions.
“I appreciated the immense value technology offered healthcare and the reality of what it takes to integrate new technology into a health system. This compelled me toward building my own startup, HealthiPeople, and our two flagship products, Kinary and Video Reach.”
“On a personal level, I am married and live in Northern California with my wife and dog. I am also a caregiver for my parents and in-laws.”
Formation Of Healthipeople
How did the idea for the company come together? Maheshwari shared:
“The idea for Healthipeople came from a very personal experience managing my parents’ and in-laws’ care at home while balancing my own life. My dad has had several health episodes, and it became clear to me that a critical part of “healthcare” actually takes place at home. Unfortunately, this is an area where our healthcare system falls short. Families like mine—and many others—face overwhelming challenges in coordinating logistics, sharing information, customizing care, and even connecting with doctors who are already stretched thin.”
“The broader healthcare system in the U.S. is facing significant strain, with caregivers in the “sandwich generation” managing both aging parents and their own families, often while balancing careers. Healthcare professionals, especially doctors, are increasingly experiencing burnout as they struggle to meet patient needs with limited resources. These dynamics make it clear that we need solutions that support care outside of traditional clinical settings. Healthipeople is designed to address these challenges by empowering family caregivers with digital tools to manage care plans at home. We’re also focused on enabling doctors to more effectively educate, engage, and connect with patients beyond the clinic, creating a more cohesive and supportive healthcare experience for all.”
Favorite Memory
What has Maheshwari’s favorite memory working for the company been so far? Maheshwari reflected:
“The release of Kinary 1.0 – it was a big milestone for us to bring our vision to reality for helping Family Caregivers. It was also the coming together of a lot of hard work by the team and seeing it through. It was validation for us that we could build something amongst all the challenges we had. And the feedback we have received has been quite positive. Above all it allowed us to get closer to the family caregivers we wish to serve and begin to build a community.”
Core Products
What are the company’s core products and features? Maheshwari explained:
”HealthiPeople is an interconnected digital health tools set to connect patients, providers, and caregivers for improved patient outcomes. Our two products are Kinary for caregivers and VideoReach, for providers. Our mission is for patient care to flow better post-discharge.”
“Kinary, is an all-in-one mobile app that offers family caregivers solutions to manage daily caregiving routines and share the caregiving load. The product has specific features that allows caregivers to:

Challenges Faced
What challenges have Maheshwari and the team faced in building the company? Maheshwari acknowledged:
“Working in digital health has its own set of challenges like time to prove the product and show outcomes, regulatory challenges, long sales cycles, and as a startup, we faced challenges in keeping the team motivation high, meeting cashflow requirements and personnel problems.Being resilient and resourceful and being motivated to solve the problem allows you to see these challenges as learning opportunities to become a better company. Keeping a learning attitude, learning from our advisors, having a good team with complementary skillsets, and failing earlier with short steps has helped us meet these challenges.”
Evolution Of Healthipeople’s Technology
How has the company’s technology evolved since launching? Maheshwari noted:
“We have just launched our two products. But we have been getting really good user feedback and are quite excited about our next release of Kinary and Videoreach. We are definitely going to leverage a lot more of AI-based features to make both providers and family caregivers efficient in providing better post discharge care.”
Significant Milestones
What have been some of the company’s most significant milestones? Maheshwari cited:
“For Kinary: Formation of the advisory board, Launching the first release of Kinary, winning the CalGrows grant from California Department of Aging. For Videorech: Our first pilot signup and the successful results from it, the launch of Videoreach product, a verbal commitment of our first paid customer.”
Customer Success Stories
When asking Maheshwari about customer success stories, he highlighted:
“It has really been good to hear how Kinary has helped family caregivers stay organized, find peace of mind, and reduce their stress. Here is feedback from one of our customers who is a sandwich generation family caregiver: As a 37-year-old caregiver for my mom in California, I’ve found Kinary to be an absolute lifesaver. Coming from a finance background, I appreciate efficiency and organization, and this app delivers both in spades. Kinary brings all the essential tools into one easy-to-use platform, helping me create and manage care plans specifically for my mom’s needs. Plus, it makes it super easy to loop in family and friends, which really takes the edge off the isolation that often comes with caregiving.”
“Kinary was designed by folks who truly get what family caregivers go through. It covers everything from medical appointments to social visits, household chores, and wellness routines, all in one place.”
“Here’s what I love about Kinary:
- Dashboard: It helps me prioritize daily tasks and make important decisions without burning out.
- Appointment Trackers and Medication Managers: Everything I need is in one spot, helping me stay on top of things and keep life under control.
- ‘Care Squads’: This feature lets me share the load with family, friends, and other resources, which really helps with the isolation of caregiving.
- Real-time Activity Feeds: Keeps me updated to make sure my mom is getting the best care possible.”
“Kinary has truly made my caregiving journey more manageable and less stressful. If you’re in a similar boat, I can’t recommend it enough. We just launched Videoreach. But, from our pilots- providers are really enthusiastic about how asynchronous videos can help them stay connected with patients, save time, and improve patient outcomes at the same time. It has shown improvement in procedure prep rates by 40%, 30% reduction in cancelation, and a >80% patient satisfaction rate.”
Funding
When asking Maheshwari about the company’s funding details, he revealed:
“We have bootstrapped the first version of each of the two products. Our MVP products have already shown value and a great product-market fit. We have done pilots, gotten great customer feedback, and understand our customer’s needs. We are now interested in raising capital to advance our product roadmap with AI, increasing our partnerships, and more data & analytics functionality, and are interested in working with investors who understand the post-discharge healthcare market.”
Total Addressable Market
What total addressable market (TAM) size is the company pursuing? Maheshwari assessed:
“Just within the US, the growing medicare population is creating a post-discharge care market forecasted to be $700 billion by 2034. And globally, this market is much bigger. We are aiming to start with the US, but our aims are to be a global healthcare company providing technology for post-discharge care. The total addressable market (TAM) for family caregivers in the U.S. is substantial. According to a RAND study, there are over 100 million family caregivers providing unpaid care to an adult or child. This number is expected to grow as the population ages, further increasing the need for caregiving support. The economic value of unpaid caregiving is estimated at $600 billion annually, highlighting the vast potential for services and solutions tailored to this growing market.”
Differentiation From The Competition
What differentiates the company from its competition? Maheshwari affirmed:
“We are a patient-first company, while many of our competitors are just looking at what workflows the big healthcare institutions need. We are building around the patient experience at home and the patient’s outcomes. This ecosystem consists of caregivers and providers and requires them all working in flow together.”
“We are developing practical digital solutions with a focus on ease of use and scalable and interoperable implementation. These are going to be made even better with AI to help family caregivers and providers in order to improve patient outcomes. These are tools that customers can use right now for some of the more common struggles and pain points.”
“No one is looking at patient engagement in a way where it is highly personalized to the patient and can earn patient trust. Robotic sms text messages just don’t cut it and currently are not driving the improved engagement and outcomes that we need to see.”
Future Company Goals
What are some of the company’s future company goals? Maheshwari concluded:
“We are just getting started. We have a lot to do. Our goals center around continued innovation, strategic growth, and community building. We are focused on raising capital to accelerate the development of advanced AI features, which will enhance the functionality of our products and improve the caregiving experience. Additionally, we aim to expand our partnerships with leading healthcare institutions, allowing us to scale and continue validating our impact on improved patient outcomes. Lastly, we are committed to fostering a strong community of family caregivers and healthcare providers who share our vision of transforming post-discharge care.”
