Heaviside Industries Raises $28 Million Series A To Scale Autonomous Precision Munitions

Heaviside Industries has emerged from stealth with a $28 million Series A funding round led by Interlagos, with participation from Menlo Ventures, Flume Ventures, Cantos, Anorak Ventures, and a group of defense-focused individual investors including Frank Finelli, former Partner and Managing Director at The Carlyle Group; Paul Dimitruk, Co-Founder and Senior Partner at Partners Capital; and Aaditya Devarakonda, former CEO of Dedrone. The Los Angeles-based defense company has been operating quietly since its founding in 2024, building a team of more than 50 engineers and operators across offices in Los Angeles and Oslo, Norway.

Heaviside develops multi-domain autonomous precision munitions for U.S. and allied special operations and conventional forces, with an initial product focus on aerial and underwater munitions platforms. The company’s systems are designed to operate in contested, GPS-denied, and electronically jammed environments where legacy munitions degrade or fail — addressing a critical gap as unmanned systems proliferate across modern battlefields. Heaviside said its products deliver hyper-precision strike capability at a fraction of the cost of traditional methods, with markedly reduced collateral damage, making economical autonomous strike capability accessible at operational scale.

During its two-plus years in stealth, the company said it has established a roster of U.S. and allied customers and built manufacturing capabilities that have already shipped tens of thousands of systems. The Series A capital will be used to expand production and accelerate customer deliveries domestically and internationally. Heaviside said its engineering team includes the architects of the most successful miniaturized military unmanned aerial systems ever fielded, along with a guidance group with over 100,000 flight hours in contested environments.

The raise comes amid growing demand for affordable, precise autonomous strike systems as the U.S. defense establishment accelerates modernization efforts across conventional and special operations forces.

KEY QUOTES:

“This Series A fundraise allows us to accelerate the deployment of Heaviside’s autonomous munitions platforms to a broad base of our established customers. Our products are designed for hyper-precision in jammed and GPS-denied environments, fundamentally shifting the dynamics of modern warfare. With this capital, we will further the adoption of Heaviside’s technology by warfighters.”

Phillip Walker, CEO, Heaviside Industries

“American defense is overdue for reinvigoration — and modernizing it requires large-scale manufacturing and precise, affordable capability at operational scale. Heaviside has put both under one roof for the first time: the engineers behind the most successful miniaturized military UAS ever fielded, a manufacturing program that has shipped tens of thousands of systems to the U.S. and our allies, and a guidance group with over 100,000 flight hours in contested environments. That depth is why we invested and why Heaviside will define this generation of American defense.”
