Heidi: $65 Million Series B Raised For Building First AI Care Partner For Clinicians

Melbourne-based health technology company Heidi has closed a $65 million USD Series B funding round led by Point72 Private Investments, with continued participation from Blackbird, Headline, and Latitude, the growth fund of Phoenix Court. The funding round values the company at $465 million, bringing total funding to nearly $100 million as it accelerates its mission to build an AI Care Partner for every clinician.

Founded by Dr. Thomas Kelly, a former vascular surgical resident, Heidi is redefining how clinicians work by automating key administrative tasks such as clinical documentation, evidence search, and patient follow-ups. By integrating seamlessly into clinical workflows, the company’s AI-driven platform expands clinicians’ capacity and improves patient care while addressing systemic issues of burnout and inefficiency in healthcare.

Over the past 18 months, Heidi’s technology has supported 73 million patient consultations and currently assists two million consultations weekly across 110 languages in 116 countries. Tens of thousands of clinicians from over 200 specialties rely on Heidi to manage documentation, save time, and reduce administrative burdens — returning an estimated 18 million hours to the frontline workforce.

The new capital will accelerate Heidi’s expansion into major global markets, including the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada, while continuing to grow adoption across France, Spain, Germany, Ireland, South Africa, Singapore, and Hong Kong.

Heidi’s technology is being rapidly adopted across healthcare systems worldwide:

  1. In the UK, Heidi is working with the Modality Partnership and Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, alongside pilot programs with NHS Trusts across North West London and Lancashire.
  2. In the U.S., the company is collaborating with Beth Israel Lahey Health in Massachusetts and MaineGeneral, one of Maine’s largest healthcare networks.
  3. In Canada, Heidi has been named the official choice of the Yukon Government.
  4. In Australia, it is integrated within Monash Health and Queensland Health Children’s Hospital and Health Service, serving millions across the public system.
  5. In New Zealand, Heidi is one of only two healthcare AI providers endorsed by the Health Ministry for public system trials.

Alongside its funding announcement, Heidi also revealed two key executive hires to support its next growth phase: Paul Williamson, former Head of Revenue at Plaid, joins as Chief Revenue Officer, and Dr. Simon Kos, former Chief Medical Officer at Microsoft, joins as Chief Medical Officer.

Heidi remains committed to upholding the highest standards of data security and compliance, adhering to NHS, HIPAA, GDPR, and Australian Privacy Principles, and maintaining enterprise certifications such as SOC2 and ISO27001.

That’s why I founded Heidi: to build an AI Care Partner that stands alongside clinicians, empowering them to deliver the care to which they have dedicated their lives.”
— Dr. Thomas Kelly, CEO and Co-Founder, Heidi

Heidi’s platform has the potential to meaningfully improve how clinicians manage their administrative workflows. We’re impressed by the adoption rates they’ve demonstrated within health systems and are excited to support their vision of expanding healthcare capacity while preserving the human touch in patient care.”
