Heidi Secures $340 Million At $900 Million Valuation To Expand AI Across Healthcare Systems

Heidi, an Australian healthcare technology company developing AI-powered clinical assistance software, has secured $340 million in new funding, comprising a $100 million Series C led by Blackbird at a $900 million valuation and a separate $240 million growth investment led by General Catalyst’s Customer Value Fund. The capital will support the company’s global expansion and development of AI agents designed to handle administrative and clinical workflows under physician supervision.

Existing investors Phoenix Court, Point72 Private Investments, and Headline participated in the Series C.

The $240 million growth investment will provide additional capacity to expand Heidi’s market presence and support adoption across major healthcare systems. The company plans to use its financing to strengthen its product development, clinical research, and regulatory capabilities as it expands beyond AI-assisted clinical documentation.

Heidi’s platform currently supports approximately 2.8 million patient visits per week across 190 countries and 110 languages.

Since launching two years ago, the company’s technology has supported more than 175 million patient visits and over 67 million clinical hours. Its patient visit total has increased from 73 million at the time of its Series B financing, while its clinical hours have more than tripled since September 2025.

The company also reported substantial revenue growth, with annual recurring revenue increasing from $1 million to $50 million in approximately two years, reaching that level in April 2026.

Heidi originally gained traction through its AI clinical documentation software, which helps healthcare professionals capture patient conversations and produce clinical notes.

The company’s longer-term strategy involves developing a comprehensive AI Care Partner that can support physicians and other healthcare professionals throughout their working day.

Rather than focusing exclusively on recording appointments, Heidi is expanding into AI-powered tools that can complete additional administrative tasks, retrieve relevant clinical information, and prepare work for clinician review.

Its objective is to reduce the time healthcare professionals spend on administrative activities while maintaining physician oversight of clinical decisions.

The company has secured deployments across major healthcare organizations in several countries.

In the United States, Heidi is used by Beth Israel Lahey Health, one of Massachusetts’ largest healthcare systems.

In the United Kingdom, the company was selected as the sole supplier for NHS England Midlands, which Heidi describes as the largest clinical AI procurement in NHS history.

Australian deployments include The Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne, Children’s Health Queensland Hospital and Health Service, and Metro South Health.

In New Zealand, Heidi has been deployed across every emergency department in the country.

The company reported an enterprise activation rate of approximately 62%, reflecting adoption within its healthcare organization customers.

Heidi has also expanded its product portfolio beyond clinical documentation.

Its Heidi Evidence platform provides context-aware clinical guidelines at the point of care and has answered more than 10 million queries since launching in March 2026.

The company has introduced Remote, its first wearable device, designed to capture audio across healthcare environments ranging from operating rooms to community clinics.

Its Dictate feature provides voice-to-text capabilities for clinicians who want to capture information directly.

Heidi is also developing more advanced agentic capabilities that can work through complex healthcare workflows and return completed tasks or recommendations for clinician review.

The company has emphasized that clinicians will retain control over clinical decisions, with new capabilities undergoing testing and validation before deployment.

Heidi uses proprietary clinical AI technology for much of its transcription and note generation rather than relying entirely on general-purpose foundation models. This approach allows the company to manage accuracy, processing speed, and operating costs according to the requirements of individual clinical tasks.

A portion of the new financing will fund clinical evidence generation, quality management systems, and regulatory submissions associated with its planned agentic capabilities.

Heidi said the forthcoming product capabilities will not be available in the United Kingdom or European Union.

Founded in Melbourne, the company reports $436.6 million in total capital raised from investors including Blackbird, General Catalyst, Phoenix Court, Point72 Private Investments, Headline, and others.

KEY QUOTES:

“From the day I started Heidi, the ambition was always bigger than writing doctor’s notes. I imagined that AI would sit alongside clinicians and complete real work under their supervision. That’s the shift we’re now making: from documenting care to helping clinicians act on it. This round is about getting an AI Care Partner to every doctor in the world, and putting clinicians back at the center of care with their patients.”

Dr. Thomas Kelly, Co-Founder and CEO of Heidi

“Our Customer Value Fund (CVF) exists to help companies with excellent unit economics double down on their growth engine, while using their own balance sheet for product and engineering investments. Heidi has shown it can win trust inside the world’s most complex health systems. We’re thrilled to partner on Heidi’s next phase of growth as they move from easing documentation to taking on more of the clinical work day.”

Pranav Singhvi, Co-Founder and Partner at General Catalyst’s Customer Value Fund

“We’ve backed Tom and the team since their pre-seed in 2021 and our conviction is greater than ever. The healthcare deficit won’t be solved with generic AI solutions that clinicians ignore. Heidi invested early in deeply understanding what clinicians want, building its own models and training capability to deliver this. This approach has earnt them the right to capture valuable downstream workflows in the most rigorous clinical settings globally.”

Michael Tolo, General Partner at Blackbird

“We’re investing in Heidi because the administrative burden is driving burnout and shrinking care capacity everywhere. We’ve watched Heidi move from easing that burden to helping care teams handle more of the clinical day, with adoption across US health systems that speaks to how much clinicians trust the platform. We’re excited to back their vision of expanding the world’s capacity for care while keeping people at the center of it.”
