Helical Fusion Raises $20.6 Million In Series B Second Close With Fuji Electric And Other Investors

Helical Fusion raised JPY 3.23 billion, or approximately $20.6 million, in the second close of its Series B financing as it advances development of its commercial fusion program. Fuji Electric joined the round as both a strategic investor and an Official Partner of Helical Fusion’s Helix Program.

Additional investors included Hazama Ando, Fujikura, Tokyo Gas, KKT, Urata, Kepple Group, and Ecrowd NEXT, along with other corporate and individual investors.

Including grants, loans, and other financing, Helical Fusion’s cumulative funding has reached approximately JPY 13.15 billion, or $83.8 million.

The company plans to use the new capital to accelerate the Helix Program, its roadmap toward commercially viable fusion power.

Helical Fusion is developing Helix HARUKA, an integrated demonstration device, and Helix KANATA, which is intended to become its first fusion power plant capable of net-electricity generation in the 2030s.

Construction of Helix HARUKA is underway at the National Institute for Fusion Science campus in Toki City, Japan.

More than 30 Japanese companies are participating in development and manufacturing for the project.

Fuji Electric and Helical Fusion began working together in 2025 when Fuji Electric agreed to supply power equipment for Helical Fusion’s high-temperature superconducting magnet development.

The expanded relationship will include collaboration on products, services, and technologies required for future fusion power systems.
