Helin has secured a €10 million growth investment led by Amsterdam-based venture firm FORWARD.one as it looks to scale its industrial edge intelligence platform and expand internationally. The Rijswijk-based company, which provides edge computing and analytics technology for asset-heavy industries, said the round follows the securing of a loan from Rabobank and will be used to grow sales capacity and further develop its platform.
Helin positions its offering as a single, secure edge-to-cloud platform designed to replace fragmented on-site software and slower cloud-based analytics for operators that need real-time monitoring, control, and security in remote or connectivity-challenged environments. The company said its system combines hardware, software, and connectivity, enabling customers to deploy applications quickly without changing existing IT setups, while continuing to operate locally when connections drop. Helin’s focus areas include oil and gas, renewable energy, maritime, and manufacturing, where downtime and latency constraints can materially affect safety and operational performance.
FORWARD.one said the investment reflects Helin’s traction with large industrial customers and is aimed at accelerating commercialization and broader enterprise rollouts. Helin said it operates globally, employs more than 80 people, and has increased its signed ARR by 12x over the past 3 years. The company cited customers including Boskalis, Shell, BP, Stena, and Sunrock, and said users apply the platform to improve uptime, reduce fuel consumption, optimize energy usage, maximize portfolio revenue, and increase safety across mission-critical operations.
Helin said it intends to build a leading development platform for industrial AI applications and expand its footprint beyond oil and gas, where it claims it is already an international market leader.
KEY QUOTES
“We already run in critical industrial environments. This investment allows us to scale deployments faster while continuing to meet and optimise strict requirements on uptime, latency, and security.”
“Our goal is to become the world’s leading development platform for industrial AI applications and ultimately reach unicorn status. In the oil and gas sector, we are already an international market leader, and we aim to extend that position to the other industries we operate in. The investment from FORWARD.one allows us to further expand our international sales team and connect with industrial organisations that want to run their AI applications securely and locally.”
Martijn Handels, Co-Founder and CPTO, Helin
