Hello Patient, a startup focused on improving how healthcare providers communicate with patients, has raised $22.5 million in Series A funding. The round was led by Scale Venture Partners and included investments from 8VC, Bling Capital, Max Ventures, Remus Capital, and FirstLook Partners. This funding will enable the company to expand its technology and reach a broader range of healthcare organizations across the United States.
The company’s core product is a conversational AI platform that manages patient interactions across phone calls, text messages, and online chat. Instead of relying on traditional call centers or basic messaging tools, Hello Patient uses artificial intelligence to hold real conversations with patients. These AI agents are available 24/7, helping patients book appointments, get answers to common questions, and stay engaged with their healthcare providers. The platform is designed to meet strict privacy and security standards required in the healthcare industry.
One of the biggest challenges in healthcare today is what experts call the “front door”—the systems that allow patients to reach their providers and schedule care. Many practices struggle to keep up with incoming calls and messages, especially during busy hours. Studies show that up to 42 percent of patient outreach can go unanswered, leading to missed appointments, delayed care, and lost revenue. Hello Patient aims to solve this problem by automating routine communication tasks, allowing staff to focus more on direct patient care.
The company’s founder and CEO, Alex Cohen, previously worked at Carbon Health, where he saw firsthand how difficult it was to automate patient communication using traditional call center software. He launched Hello Patient to create a more effective solution—one that doesn’t just send reminders or static messages, but actually engages patients in meaningful, responsive conversations. In less than a year, the platform has already handled over 100,000 phone calls and 300,000 patient interactions.
Healthcare practices utilizing Hello Patient have observed improvements in lead conversion, patient retention, and the reactivation of inactive patients. The platform is used by a range of organizations, from local clinics like Revive Med Spa to national digital health companies such as Octave Health. By meeting patients where they are—whether on the phone, via text, or through chat—Hello Patient helps providers stay connected and reduce administrative burdens.
Investors see Hello Patient as a key player in solving one of healthcare’s most pressing operational challenges: the breakdown in communication between patients and providers. Scale Venture Partners emphasized the company’s strong early traction and experienced leadership team as reasons for their investment, noting that Hello Patient is well-positioned to define the future of patient engagement.
KEY QUOTES:
“Before this, the only solution to these problems was to either hire more staff or use patient engagement software that’s limited to sending static messages. With conversational AI, we finally have another, 10x better solution. AI that can have full conversations with patients across phone calls and SMS is giving providers the ability to deliver the seamless, responsive access experience patients expect—while also improving their bottom line.”
