Hermes Intelligence: Daniel Sako Appointed CEO Of AI-Native Strategic Intelligence Company

Hermes Intelligence announced the appointment of Daniel Sako as chief executive officer, bringing a background in alternative data and hedge fund analytics to lead the company’s next phase of growth.

Sako previously worked at Man Group and Balyasny Asset Management, where he focused on alternative data and built data products tied directly to portfolio manager performance. His career trajectory is unconventional: he was born in Albania, raised in Italy, and moved to London seven years ago without speaking English.

Hermes Intelligence positions itself as an AI-native strategic intelligence company, focused on building custom alternative datasets and ontology-based knowledge systems. Its model emphasizes vertically integrated intelligence, spanning raw data sourcing through to actionable insights, delivered on a pay-as-you-go basis rather than through traditional data licensing.

The company’s “Sight, not Search” approach embeds AI across its infrastructure, including data sourcing, entity resolution, relationship mapping, and continuous updates. This allows a relatively small team to scale intelligence delivery across multiple industries and geographies without significantly increasing headcount.

Hermes Intelligence has secured clients across investors, enterprises, and quasi-government organizations, and aims to expand further across these verticals. Under Sako’s leadership, the company plans to grow its engineering and product teams, deepen its presence in financial services, and broaden into enterprise and government markets while preparing for a broader public platform launch.

The company is headquartered in Tallinn, Estonia, with operations in London, Brussels, and Warsaw, and was recognized with the Waters Technology Award 2025 for Best Alternative Data Provider.

KEY QUOTE:

“The industry spends enormous resources chasing information and still ends up with overload and blind spots. We give clients structured sight over their world, not more fragments to search through, and they only pay for what they use.”
