Hermetiq has raised a $2.2 million Seed round to develop infrastructure connecting AI coding agents with the build systems responsible for compiling, testing and shipping the code they generate. Gi21 Capital participated in the financing.
Hermetiq is focused on the growing operational burden created as AI coding tools produce larger volumes of code that must pass through continuous integration and enterprise build systems.
The company’s technology analyzes build failures and provides intelligence around the underlying build environment. Hermetiq’s longer-term product direction includes automated remediation, enabling its system to move beyond diagnosing a failed build to proposing and eventually applying a fix.
Hermetiq also exposes structured build context to coding agents through Model Context Protocol, giving agents information about what happened when generated code failed.
According to Gi21 Capital, Hermetiq is running in production at one of the top four frontier AI labs and handles telemetry from more than 2 million builds per day. Etsy is running a pilot, while Bazel lists Hermetiq as an official product partner and remote execution service. The company has also achieved SOC 2 Type I compliance and supports cloud and self-hosted deployments.
Hermetiq was founded by Jake Newfield and Tim Potter, who previously worked in build infrastructure and remote build execution. Investors and operators participating alongside Gi21 include Niranjan Tulpule, VP of Developer AI at Google, Gokul Rajaram and Jason Calacanis.
