Heron View Partners (HVP) has launched as an independent private equity platform backed by Hong Kong-based holding company Pacific Century Group (PCG), following a split from PineBridge Investments after PineBridge’s acquisition by MetLife Investment Management in December 2025.
The firm said it is the continuation of a private equity business founded 25 years ago by Steven N. Costabile, first at American International Group (AIG) and later at PineBridge. HVP begins operations with approximately $2.5 billion in assets under management and a client base spanning the U.S., Europe, Asia, and Latin America.
HVP said it employs 17 professionals and operates across offices in Hong Kong, London, Mexico City, New York, and Zurich. Costabile will serve as global head and will be joined on the senior leadership team by managing directors Justin Pollack, Loïc Rentiers, Jason McGann, Jay Quenville, Olivier Keller, and Maria Suarez.
The team’s roots trace back to AIG, where its executive leadership served as the insurer’s private fund investment team from 2000 to 2009. In 2010, AIG’s asset management group was acquired by PCG and renamed PineBridge Investments, where the group continued as the private equity funds team until PineBridge was acquired by MetLife Investment Management in December 2025.
HVP said it will continue managing investments initiated under prior ownership while pursuing new opportunities focused on the lower middle market, including secondaries, fund strategies, and co-investments executed through a range of structures.
