Hexagon announced an agreement to acquire Inertial Sense, a Utah-based provider of tactical-grade global navigation and inertial navigation systems. The acquisition is expected to enhance Hexagon’s positioning, navigation, and timing capabilities, further strengthening its presence across the aerospace, defense, robotics, and unmanned systems markets.
Inertial Sense has deployed more than 30,000 inertial systems worldwide and is recognized for its GNSS+INS solutions that deliver centimetre-level accuracy for space-constrained applications. These offerings will complement Hexagon’s existing assured positioning, navigation, and timing portfolio, supporting the company’s growth strategy in the autonomous and precision technology sectors.
The deal is expected to close in the first half of 2026, pending customary regulatory approvals. Following completion, Inertial Sense will be reported under Hexagon’s Autonomous Solutions business area. The company is forecast to generate approximately $5 million in revenue in 2025, with growth and profitability aligned with the broader business segment.
