Hexaware Technologies announced that it has appointed Amit Vij as Chief Private Markets Officer, a new senior role designed to deepen the company’s engagement with private markets investors and their portfolio companies.
In the position, Vij will lead Hexaware’s go-to-market efforts across the private markets ecosystem, spanning private equity, infrastructure, private debt, real estate, sovereign wealth funds, distressed debt funds, and portfolio businesses. The company said the mandate is to drive strategy and business growth as sponsors and management teams intensify their focus on portfolio value creation and operational improvement.
Hexaware described Vij as a private-markets-focused executive with more than 20 years of experience advising investors and portfolio leaders on value-creation initiatives. The company noted he was recognized among the Top 25 Private Equity Consultants and Leaders for 2025 and is known for working with boards and C-suite executives to translate strategic priorities into operational execution, with an emphasis on measurable outcomes and long-term value creation.
Before joining Hexaware, Vij held leadership roles focused on building private markets engagements at IT and business process solutions providers. He also served on the executive management team of a knowledge process outsourcing venture that was ultimately sold to Moody’s Corp. Earlier in his career, he worked in investment banking at Deutsche Bank in London, advising private equity and corporate clients on mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance.
Hexaware also highlighted Vij’s military background, noting he began his professional career as a fighter pilot in the Indian Air Force, retiring as a squadron leader after flying multiple operational MiG aircraft, including the MiG 29, MiG 27, MiG 23, and MiG 21. He holds an MBA from INSEAD and is an alumnus of the National Defence Academy.
The appointment comes as Hexaware positions its technology and AI-led delivery capabilities as a lever for private markets sponsors seeking faster execution against value creation plans. The company framed the opportunity as helping funds and portfolio companies move more quickly from transformation intent to business outcomes, supported by technology modernization, operating model improvements, and AI-driven interventions aligned to client priorities.
