Hilb Group has acquired a Pennsylvania-based insurance agency, expanding its presence across the Mid-Atlantic region and adding another business to its growing national insurance brokerage platform.

The acquired company is a full-service insurance agency providing both property and casualty insurance and employee benefits solutions.

Hilb Group did not name the agency in its announcement, and it did not disclose the transaction’s financial terms.

Through the transaction, Hilb Group is adding the Pennsylvania agency’s client relationships, insurance expertise and local market presence to its broader organization.

The acquired business will become part of Hilb Group’s Mid-Atlantic operations, strengthening the company’s ability to serve clients across the region.

The deal also expands Hilb’s capabilities in two core business areas: property and casualty insurance and employee benefits.

Property and casualty insurance services generally support businesses and individuals seeking coverage for a range of operational and personal risks, while employee benefits capabilities allow Hilb to work with employers on insurance and benefits programs for their workforces.

Richmond, Virginia-based Hilb Group provides property and casualty insurance, employee benefits and related advisory services through a nationwide network of offices and partner agencies.

The company has built its platform through a combination of acquisitions and organic growth, typically adding established insurance agencies while continuing to invest in the businesses after they join Hilb.

The Pennsylvania transaction continues that strategy and adds another regional agency to Hilb’s expanding footprint.

Hilb has now completed more than 200 acquisitions as it has scaled its insurance brokerage and advisory platform.

The company currently operates more than 125 offices across 32 states, giving it a substantial national presence while maintaining local operations in the markets it serves.

Hilb’s acquisition strategy has allowed the company to broaden its geographic reach while expanding the range of insurance products, benefits services and advisory capabilities available across its organization.

The latest Pennsylvania acquisition further strengthens Hilb’s Mid-Atlantic presence and adds additional property and casualty and employee benefits capabilities to the platform.

Hilb Group is a portfolio company of The Carlyle Group, which supports the insurance broker’s continued expansion through acquisitions and organic growth.
