A consortium led by HOF Capital has completed its acquisition of Porsche’s shareholdings in Bugatti Rimac and Rimac Group, completing a significant ownership transition at the hypercar and technology businesses.
The consortium includes BlueFive Capital as its largest investor along with other institutional investors from the United States and Europe.
Porsche and Rimac Group established the Bugatti Rimac joint venture in 2021.
Before the transaction, Rimac Group held a 55% majority interest in Bugatti Rimac while Porsche owned the remaining 45%.
Porsche separately held a 21% ownership interest in Rimac Group.
The HOF Capital-led consortium agreed in April 2026 to acquire both Porsche positions. The transaction has now been completed.
The new ownership structure further consolidates the strategic and operational direction established by Mate Rimac, who has served as CEO of Bugatti Rimac since the joint venture was established in 2021.
The company is also restructuring its senior leadership team.
Christophe Piochon is stepping down as President of Bugatti Automobiles and Chief Operating Officer of Bugatti Rimac.
Mate Rimac will assume the additional position of President of Bugatti Automobiles while continuing to serve as CEO of Bugatti Rimac.
Marko Brkljačić, formerly Chief Operating Officer of Rimac Technology, is planned to join Bugatti Rimac as Chief Operating Officer.
Bugatti Automobiles Managing Director Hendrik Malinowski is also expected to become Chief Commercial Officer of the brand.
The ownership and leadership changes come during an important period for Bugatti.
The company opened its new La Manufacture production facility in Molsheim in July, while the Bugatti Tourbillon has reached the final stage of its testing program.
Bugatti said those developments are part of the 10-year vision established after Mate Rimac assumed leadership in 2021.
