Holiferm and Organica UK have entered into a strategic combination that brings together Holiferm’s biosurfactant technology and manufacturing capabilities with Organica’s formulation and finished-product operations. Financial terms were not disclosed.
The combined company will span ingredient development, advanced applications, formulation, product manufacturing, and commercialization, creating a more integrated platform for developing bio-based alternatives to traditional fossil-based chemistry.
Holiferm develops nature-derived biosurfactants through proprietary fermentation technology and operates research, development, and commercial manufacturing capabilities in northwest England. Organica formulates and manufactures biodegradable and non-hazardous household and cleaning products for UK and international brands.
By combining Holiferm’s ingredient technology with Organica’s formulation and finished-product expertise, the companies plan to provide customers with an end-to-end route from scientific development and ingredient innovation through product development, manufacturing, and commercialization.
Holiferm and Organica have worked alongside each other since 2023 and will continue operating from adjacent sites. The companies expect the arrangement to support increased production capacity, faster joint product development, and additional commercial opportunities.
Sadorp will remain a commercial partner to the combined organization, contributing retailer relationships and commercialization expertise designed to help move products from development to store shelves.
Holiferm said the combination is also expected to accelerate its path toward profitability while giving it additional application-development and finished-product capabilities.
Organica was advised by Debretts and Franklins, while Holiferm was advised by Brown Rudnick.
