Holland & Knight added Jake Farquharson as a partner in its Corporate, M&A and Securities Section in New York. Farquharson joins from Clifford Chance.
Farquharson focuses on domestic and international capital markets transactions, mergers and acquisitions, strategic joint ventures, platform formations, corporate finance, and other corporate transactions.
He represents sponsors, issuers, and investment banks in public and private capital raises.
His practice spans real estate, REITs, FIBRAs, energy and infrastructure, hospitality and gaming, healthcare real estate, and specialty finance.
His specialty finance experience includes mortgages, online consumer loans, corporate middle-market loans, and other private credit assets.
Farquharson has participated in more than $15 billion of equity capital raising transactions during his career.
Those transactions include IPOs, follow-on equity offerings, debt offerings, pre-IPO financings, Rule 144A and Regulation S transactions, and private placements.
He also advises companies on securities compliance, corporate governance, and other ongoing corporate matters.
Holland & Knight said the addition strengthens its institutional capital markets capabilities while adding experience that complements its existing strengths in real estate and REITs.
Farquharson earned his J.D. and MBA from Northeastern University and his B.A. from Tufts University.
