Hologic has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Reveal Genomics, a Barcelona-based precision oncology company developing genomic diagnostic tests designed to support personalized cancer treatment decisions.
The acquisition would expand Hologic’s oncology diagnostics portfolio, particularly in breast cancer, by adding Reveal Genomics’ HER2DX test and other precision oncology capabilities.
HER2DX is designed to help optimize treatment decisions for patients with HER2-positive breast cancer. Hologic said the technology is highly complementary to its existing oncology diagnostics portfolio, including the Breast Cancer Index test.
Breast Cancer Index is a genomic assay used to help inform decisions regarding extended endocrine therapy for women with hormone receptor-positive early-stage breast cancer.
By combining its existing tests with Reveal Genomics’ portfolio, Hologic expects to broaden the range of breast cancer patients and clinical situations its diagnostic tools can support.
Reveal Genomics develops diagnostic technologies intended to help determine the most appropriate therapeutic options for cancer patients. The company uses genomic data, computational techniques, and machine learning to generate insights that can support oncology treatment decisions.
For Hologic, the acquisition would deepen its presence in precision oncology while extending its broader women’s health diagnostics platform.
The transaction also gives Reveal Genomics access to Hologic’s commercial scale, diagnostic infrastructure, and global reach, potentially accelerating adoption of its genomic testing products across additional markets.
Hologic said the combined portfolio is expected to help clinicians make more informed treatment decisions for women diagnosed with breast cancer by bringing together complementary genomic tools across different disease subtypes and stages of treatment.
Reveal Genomics is headquartered in Barcelona and was founded to advance the use of biomarkers and genomic information in oncology.
Completion of the acquisition remains subject to Spanish regulatory approval and other customary closing conditions.
