PXN Ventures announced it has recently made a significant investment in the ready-meal subscription company, HomeCooks, as part of a £1.4 million funding round. This move marks the addition of HomeCooks to PXN’s expanding portfolio in the North of England, reflecting the growing interest in convenient and nutritious meal solutions among consumers.

Founded by the seasoned food entrepreneur Joshua M., HomeCooks stands out for its innovative approach to meal preparation. The company operates a robust network of independent chefs and well-equipped kitchens dedicated to producing “homemade” meals that are not only satisfying but also balanced, protein-rich, and rich in essential nutrients. This attention to health and quality is what sets HomeCooks apart in a competitive market.

HomeCooks boasts an impressive range of more than 300 menu options at any given time, enticing customers with a diverse selection of meals, including favorites such as Chicken Teriyaki and Nonna’s Lasagna. One of HomeCooks’ key selling points is its direct-to-consumer delivery model, which allows customers to receive delicious, ready-to-heat meals at their doors via a weekly subscription. This convenience has resonated with consumers seeking healthy dinner solutions without the hassle of meal planning or extensive cooking.

PXN Ventures notes that HomeCooks’ service is used by over 60,000 dedicated customers who value the ease and quality it provides. With the influx of new capital from this funding round, HomeCooks is well-positioned to scale its operations across the northern regions of the UK. The company’s strategy is to target health-conscious consumers who prioritize nutrition and convenience, making it a timely venture in today’s fast-paced lifestyle.

In addition to expanding its direct-to-consumer services, HomeCooks is also looking to widen its distribution channels. The company has ambitious plans to penetrate the supermarket and retail sectors, thereby increasing access to its meals for a broader audience. Notably, HomeCooks has already established partnerships with Co-op stores throughout Lincolnshire and has aligned itself with the grocery delivery platform Gopuff, positioning itself strategically in the market.

HomeCooks is also on track to reach a £750,000 crowdfunding target on the Republic platform. This dual approach to funding could bolster their resources even further, allowing the company to enhance its offerings and marketing efforts.
