Honey Health, a rapidly growing back-office automation platform for healthcare organizations, announced that it has raised $7.8 million in seed funding led by Pelion Ventures, with participation from Streamlined, Burst Capital, and 8-Bit Capital.
The company is transforming healthcare operations through autonomous AI agents that can complete complex administrative workflows directly within electronic health record (EHR) systems—reducing the burden on care teams and driving measurable financial gains for medical groups.
The funding will enable Honey Health to expand its AI capabilities, accelerate customer growth, and strengthen its engineering and operations teams. Since launching in December, the company has partnered with more than 100 health systems and medical groups, reporting average annual profit gains of $50,000 to $65,000 per provider. These gains are achieved through reduced administrative backfill costs and the ability for organizations to scale revenue without proportionally expanding non-clinical staff.
Matt Faustman and Xiao Zhang, former AI, product, and engineering leaders at LinkedIn, founded Honey Health. Both founders bring personal and professional motivation to solving healthcare’s administrative inefficiencies, having experienced firsthand how back-office delays can impact patient care.
The company’s core technology, its AutoPath-like AI agent system powered by proprietary Loop Framework and Hive Protocol, enables the automation of entire workflows across EHR systems in under 30 days. Once deployed, Honey’s agents perform tasks that traditionally require human intervention, including data fetching, chart prep, prior authorizations, fax triage, and order/refill management.
Unlike point solutions that automate narrow tasks or copilots that require human oversight, Honey’s autonomous AI agents perform end-to-end workflows across systems, acting as virtual staff who log in, navigate, and complete work autonomously. This approach enables organizations to maintain consistency and speed in administrative operations despite high staff turnover rates, which average 33–40% annually for non-clinical healthcare roles.
Built for mid-market healthcare organizations, Honey addresses the complexity of mixed EHR environments, lean IT resources, and fragmented vendor stacks. The platform integrates seamlessly across multiple systems, enabling management service organizations (MSOs) and health systems to standardize workflows without costly overhauls.
KEY QUOTES
“Healthcare organizations are stuck between two broken models: point solutions that only solve narrow tasks and a constant struggle to hire and retain back-office staff. We’re offering something fundamentally different: AI agent teams that work autonomously in the background to complete entire workflows. Our customers wake up to finished work, not more tasks to manage.”
Matt Faustman, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Honey Health
“Using Honey Health is like magic. Our back-office work just gets done inside our EHR as if a staff member had completed it.”
Dr. Kashif Latif, Co-Owner, AM Endocrinology
“The market has grown exhausted with patchwork point solutions that create more complexity than they solve. The future belongs to compound platforms that can orchestrate entire workflows autonomously across systems. Honey represents this next generation, where AI doesn’t just assist with tasks, but completes them end-to-end. This isn’t about incrementally improving the old model; it’s about replacing it entirely.”
