Horizon announced it has completed its acquisition of Anfield Capital Management, an Irvine, California-based asset management firm with deep fixed income investing experience.

The transaction was originally announced in December 2025. Through the acquisition, Horizon is adding Anfield’s institutional-quality fixed income expertise, outsourced chief investment officer capabilities, mutual funds, and ETFs to its broader solution suite for financial advisors.

Horizon provides customized investment and technology solutions designed to support the growth of financial advisors. The company said Anfield’s team, mutual funds, ETFs, and OCIO practice will now operate under Horizon.

Anfield has historically worked with registered investment advisors, broker-dealers, and financial institutions. The company has served as an “insourced investment team” for advisors by tailoring investment services to each advisor’s specific business and client needs.

Horizon said the acquisition strengthens its ability to support advisors in fixed income markets at a time when market conditions remain increasingly complex. The addition of Anfield expands Horizon’s capabilities in income-focused strategies and gives advisors access to a broader range of tools and resources.

The transaction also reflects Horizon’s continued expansion through strategic additions. Anfield marks Horizon’s second strategic addition in a little over a year, following the integration of New York-based equity manager Centre Asset Management in April 2025.

In addition to its M&A activity, Horizon launched a 12-fund active ETF suite in 2025. The suite has grown to more than $2.4 billion in assets under management.

Horizon is headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, and serves financial advisors across the country. The company operates at the intersection of financial technology, wealth management, and investment solutions, using a goals-based approach to help advisors transform their practices and support clients’ long-term financial security.

KEY QUOTES:

In a market that’s increasingly complex, Anfield’s expertise, product suite, and OCIO capabilities strengthen our ability to deliver practical, advisor-first solutions that help clients navigate uncertainty and capture opportunities across fixed income markets.”

“The role of the financial advisor continues to evolve, and we’re focused on how we can best support that evolution. Our goal is to provide advisors with the tools and resources to operate more effectively and focus on what matters most: their clients.”

John Drahzal, President and Chief Executive Officer of Horizon

“This is an exciting milestone for our team, and we look forward to engaging with more financial advisors about today’s income-focused challenges and opportunities. Joining Horizon is a strong fit for us, and we are eager to begin this new chapter as part of the Horizon team.”
