Horizon3 has surpassed $100 million in annual recurring revenue, marking a major growth milestone for the cybersecurity company as organizations increase adoption of continuous and autonomous penetration testing.
The company said ARR has grown more than 120% year over year, supported by 95% gross dollar retention and 125% net dollar retention. Horizon3 reached the $100 million ARR threshold approximately five years after crossing $1 million in ARR in September 2021.
Horizon3 develops NodeZero, an AI-native autonomous security platform designed to enable organizations to continuously test their own production environments for exploitable vulnerabilities. The platform can perform penetration testing across internal systems, external attack surfaces, cloud environments, Kubernetes deployments, and web applications while operating within customer-defined scope and security controls.
The company has expanded NodeZero beyond penetration testing into additional security workflows, including automatically deploying deception technology based on discovered attack paths, supporting continuous threat exposure management, and introducing agentic remediation workflows through blue-team AI agents.
Horizon3 said NodeZero has now conducted more than 350,000 production-safe tests across more than 7,000 organizations worldwide. Customers include Fortune 10 companies, multinational banks, healthcare organizations, government agencies, and global defense organizations. The company is also FedRAMP High authorized.
Usage frequency has increased as customers move toward continuous testing. Approximately 80% of Horizon3 customers have shifted from annual penetration testing to monthly testing, while 40% are now conducting tests weekly. Horizon3 believes the increased frequency enables security teams to identify exploitable vulnerabilities, prioritize remediation, verify fixes, and continuously measure cyber resilience.
The company’s next stage of expansion will focus on three areas: sovereign cyber AI regions for organizations with data residency requirements, cyber resilience centers of excellence for critical infrastructure, and attack-defend AI learning loops that use insights from production testing to improve future attack and defensive capabilities.
Horizon3 said its channel-first distribution strategy, expansion from a single product into a broader platform, and focus on balancing growth with operational efficiency were central to reaching the $100 million ARR milestone.
KEY QUOTES:
“The journey to $100M ARR required three things: investing in the channel early, methodically evolving from a single product into a platform, and navigating economic cycles via operational excellence that balanced growth and efficiency. $100M ARR is just the first mile marker in our marathon.”
“The exploit window is collapsing. Frontier models are turning newly disclosed weaknesses into working attack paths faster than traditional testing cycles can respond. In order to remain ahead of that shift, we are investing in three areas. First, we are expanding sovereign cyber AI regions so organizations where data residency is required can run the same high-frequency, in-scope testing that more than 7,000 customers already use. Second, we are building cyber resilience centers of excellence across critical infrastructure so the closed-loop, hack, fix, verify, repeat model operates at the scale and auditability those environments require. Third, we are advancing attack-defend AI learning loops so every production test improves the next one, turning the volume of real-world attack paths already generated across hundreds of thousands of tests into a durable advantage.”
“The goal is simple: continuous, customer-controlled offensive capability that matches the speed of AI-driven threats without sacrificing the safety and observability production systems demand. Our ability to safely pentest large-scale production systems in a repeatable, auditable, and observable way, while operating within customer-defined scope and guardrails, sets us apart from every other solution and lab in the market. As frontier models advance, they will create a massive tailwind for us and accelerate the shift to continuous, comprehensive pentesting.”
